A closure is introduced in Ullensaker municipality as a result of high infection rates. This is confirmed to Dagbladet by rapporteur Eyvind Jørgensen Schumacher.
Full bar stops will be introduced, and the closure of gyms, swimming pools, cultural and entertainment venues will be closed.
All shops and malls, except places such as pharmacies, grocery stores, liquor stores and gas stations, are also closing.
Organized sports activities for adults and children are also not allowed. However, students are still allowed to meet physically at school, but the municipality will cut all measures that bring together several cohorts, such as homework help.
The measures take effect on Tuesday and will apply for two weeks.

The mayor emphasizes that he does not take it lightly to introduce strict measures in the municipality.
– It is very far in the introduction of such intrusive measures for the municipality’s inhabitants, but the most important thing for us is to protect the inhabitants’ lives and health, and therefore we now feel compelled to introduce the strict measures, says the mayor to Dagbladet.
He adds:
– It is done with a heavy heart. It’s a very bad decision.
Contagion
High infection rates have been registered in Ullensaker recently, and the R-number in the municipality is now 1.4.

– In the last 14 days, the infection rate has been 380 per 100,000 inhabitants, says Schumacher.
The National Institute of Public Health’s limit for green land is 20.
The increase is probably due to the fact that both the South African and British mutations are circulating in the municipality. This has led to a change in the infection picture, and half of those who test positive for covid-19 are now under 20 years old.
– We clearly see that the mutant virus is more contagious among children and young people. Previously, it was common for children to be infected in the family, but now we see that there is infection between children and young people as well. Therefore, we now have to introduce strict measures also for this age group, says the mayor.
