Ulises Jaramillo Guzmán, one of the best cameramen at TV Azteca, died this Sunday, April 7, 2024 in Morelos. However, his work, experiences and memories of him stay with us.
He was a generous and hard-working man. He was always seen in the hallways of TV Azteca or on coverage with a camera on his shoulder and a smile.
Ulises Jaramillo knew how to observe with his lens what no one saw. He knew how to tell a story by capturing the essence of the images. He made a name for himself in the ranks of Fuerza Informativa Azteca because of his perseverance.
Jaramillo will be remembered as one of the best cameramen for his links, for his multiple coverages, but above all, for his generosity in working as a team.
Ulises Jaramillo was one of those who imprinted his personal style on each shot. No story will be told the same again. Ulysses now turns to the best coverage of his life.
Ulises Jaramillo, a hero in an accident
The generosity and bravery of Ulises Jaramillo was seen in an event that occurred in November 2015, when the TV Azteca cameraman supported an unknown couple who had a car accident on a highway in Michoacán.
They were going on an assignment when they found a couple injured in a car. A woman was pinned and nearly lost her legs due to the crash.
There was no sign at the scene to call for an ambulance. So Jaramillo decided to take the couple to a hospital. “We’re not going to leave them here,” he said.
They arrived at the Zitácuaro hospital, but there was equipment to care for them. So they had to take them to a hospital in Morelia, where they provided care.
Jaime Guerrero says goodbye to Ulises Jaramillo

“The departure of the great cameraman Ulises Jaramillo is sad. Honored by every coverage we had together. My Uli, no story will be told the same again. Solidarity hug to family and friends. PS the last photo was taken by him of the remains of a community buried by the eruption of the Fuego Volcano in Guatemala,” he published.
