Forty years happily married with one partner? Many will probably think that nowadays something like this is possible only in fairy tales and romantic films. However, the musician Uldis Marhilevičs and his wife Jana are an example that similar cases are also possible in life. In a conversation with the beautiful muses from the “When They Meet” program, the musician is quite optimistic and admits that he has never had a single dull moment – each stage of life is so differently interesting that he does not even notice that they are many years have already passed.
“In my opinion, the most important word in marriage is ‘respect’, and it becomes more and more important as the years go by. Everything went well for us, as a musician I was quite “crazy” – both raised a glass more than would be desirable, and all sorts of actions, and also – I can speak rashly with anger. However, if you have that respect, the ability to figure out on your own when you’ve fired in the wrong direction, to come and apologize, and to balance the situation in your day-to-day life, then you’ll be fine.”
