Ukrposhta’s Innovation in International Shipping: Reduced Tariffs and Agreements with Partner Countries

Innovation in action

The national postal operator Ukrposhta has signed a number of agreements with the post offices of partner countries to reduce tariffs for international shipping for Ukrainians.

About it reported General Director of Ukrposhta Igor Smilyansky on Telegram.

“191 countries of the Universal Postal Union supported Ukraine and Ukrposhta at the IV Congress in Saudi Arabia… this is a real precedent since the Second World War, when the union, created as a special UN agency, recorded this type of support and even created a Solidarity Fund,” he noted.

Smelyansky added that now Ukrposhta will be able to restore damaged post offices and infrastructure even more effectively, and most importantly, quickly restore communication between relatives.

“And some of Ukraine’s closest friends not only voted, but also signed agreements with us to reduce tariffs on international shipping for Ukrainians, and we will definitely tell you about this later,” said the head of the company.

Speaking at the EP forum “The Future of Ukrainian Exports,” Smelyansky noted that Ukrposhta has already reached agreements to reduce tariffs for shipments to and from Canada by 20%. It also expects to sign similar agreements with the US and UK.

We remind you:

Volumes of parcels sent from Ukraine grew up to more than 90% of the pre-war level, and the main generator of imports is China.
