Gas production in Ukraine continues to fall

The production of the largest gas producer in Ukraine has been declining since 2018. Last year – by 4%.

At the end of last year, Ukrgasvydobuvannya reduced gas production by 3.97% – to 13.67 billion cubic meters. Such data reported head of Naftogaz Yuri Vitrenko.

He noted that 1.1 billion cubic meters of gas were produced in December 2021. Compared to December 2020, production increased by 2.6 million cubic meters.

Average daily production rose to 38.3 million cubic meters in December 2021 against 38.1 million cubic meters in December 2020.

According to the company, the annual gas production in 2021 reached 13.67 billion cubic meters. m, of which 12.93 billion cubic meters. m was transferred to the needs of consumers. Compared to the same period in 2020, the decline in production is 3.97% or 0.56 billion cubic meters. m. The volume of transported gas decreased by 3.84% or 0.52 billion cubic meters. m respectively.

“The team of the national company is changing its work in order to reverse the negative trend of a constant decline in production, which has been observed since 2018. Among other things, we will catch up with the lag in the modernization of production (only the updated Krasnodonetsk compressor station at the Shebelinskoye field will give an additional 100 million cubic meters,” Vitrenko wrote.

Earlier Vitrenko announced plans increase gas production in ten years almost doubled – from 13 billion cubic meters to 24 billion cubic meters.

Recall, according to the Ukrainian GTS Operator, in 2020 Ukrainian enterprises produced 20.2 billion cubic meters of gas, which is 2% (415 million cubic meters) less than a year earlier. Production has been declining for two years in a row – in 2019 gas production in Ukraine fell by 1.4% – up to 20.7 billion cubic meters.
