Ukrainians who enjoy temporary protection have unrestricted access to the labor market in Belgium. They can work for any employer and without restrictions without having to apply for a work permit.

But Ukrainians who want to work as a self-employed person must apply for a professional card in the region concerned. In order to eliminate the difference in treatment, they are therefore added to the list of persons who are exempt from the compulsory professional card.
