In January 2023, sales of cars under 3 years of age improved.
This segment began to develop from May 2022. This was reported on the website of the Institute for Automotive Research.
The experts analyzed the statistics of car registrations. They also identified the 15 most popular models under the age of three.
In total, 2.7 thousand cars under the age of 3 years were bought in Ukraine in January. This is 68.8% more than in the same period in 2022. About 1828 vehicles (66.6%) were purchased on the domestic market. Another 918 cars (33.4%) were imported to Ukraine from other countries.
More often, cars under the age of three were bought in Kyiv (734 units) and the Kyiv region (338 units). In addition, another 285 cars were bought in the Dnepropetrovsk region.
In the Lviv region, 280 cars were purchased in January. 235 cars were sold in the Odessa region.
The most popular cars under 3 years old in the domestic market
The most popular model in the segment remains the Toyota RAV4 crossover. In January, 92 such cars were bought.
The second place in sales was taken by the Volkswagen ID.4 electric car. Last month, Ukrainians purchased 88 cars of this model.
The third position is occupied by the premium SUV Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (82 vehicles). Fourth place went to the business-class sedan Toyota Camry (68 cars), and the fifth – Kia Sportage (50 cars).

The most popular cars under 3 years old imported from abroad
The Volkswagen ID.4 electric car is the leader in the imported car market. In January, 162 such cars were registered in Ukraine. They are brought both from Europe and from China.
The Honda M-NV electric crossover took second place in sales. In January, 69 cars of this model were registered. The third was the Tesla Model Y electric car (67 cars), and the Tesla Model 3 was fourth (59 cars).
Fifth place is occupied by another electric car – Nissan Leaf. Last month, 23 such cars were registered in Ukraine.
Experts believe that electric vehicles have taken a leading position in sales due to the “zero” customs clearance of this type of car. Compared to ICE models, they cost an average of 30% cheaper.
