Ukrainians are being prepared for new tariffs – UNIAN

If in Kiev heating prices rise by 30-40%, then in the regions the price may rise by 60-70%.

In the new heating season heating tariffs in Ukraine can grow by 30-40%.

This forecast was voiced by the head of the department of housing and communal infrastructure of the Public Council at the Kyiv City State Administration Oleg Popenko, reports “Reviewer”.

According to the expert, new heating tariffs may be announced as early as September.

How much will the heating cost:

  • heating for “odnushka” on average will cost at least 2000 UAH;
  • for a two-room apartment (63 sq. m.) – 3150 UAH;
  • for a three-room apartment (80 sq. m.) – 4000 UAH

Where will the highest rates be:

According to the forecast, the size of the tariff will depend on the region. So, if in Kiev heating prices rise by 30-40%, then in the regions the price may rise by 60-70%.

“In the cities where the heating tariff was not raised, the last 2-3 years have not been modernized teplokommunenergo, tariffs will grow by more than 60 or even 70%,” – said the expert.

Chernivtsi has already announced a 70% increase in tariff.

In Kiev, according to Popenko, heating may rise in price more than announced – up to 45%.

Kremenchug is preparing to increase the tariff by 53%.

Forecasts

  • Earlier, the mayor of Kiev Vitaliy Klitschko said that in May 120 cities of Ukraine, in which 5 million people live, may be left without hot water, since Teplokommunenergo is unable to pay market price for gas.
  • And from October, the entire population may be left without centralized heating, since from May 20, NJSC Naftogaz’s obligation to supply heat supply enterprises with natural gas at a fixed price and without prepayment will cease.
  • On May 21, 2021, Zelensky was told what the next one will be heating season.
  • In early June, Shmygal said that Ukraine, in preparation for the heating season, has accumulated 16 billion cubic meters of gas in underground storage facilities, as well as 1.4 million tons of coal.
  • The Ministry of Energy plans to accumulate 19-20 billion cubic meters of gas in underground gas storage facilities by the heating season 2021-2022.
  • From October 1, heating tariffs in Ukraine may grow up to 40%, but this will not solve, but will aggravate the systemic crisis in the heat and power industry, according to the Ukrteplokommunenergo association.

Preparing for the heating season

  • Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the Kyiv City State Administration Pyotr Panteleev suggested that for the coming heating season to pass, Ukrainian gas should become social and be sold for the needs of heating companies at a price of UAH 4,000 per thousand cubic meters. m., since the market price of gas is not included in the tariffs of enterprises.
  • The weighted average price of natural gas for August reached a record value of UAH 15.25 thousand per cubic meter, an increase of 18% compared to the average price in July.
  • On June 14, 2021, Advisor to the Minister of Energy Lana Zerkal announced that if Russia decides to interrupt the transit of gas through Ukraine, it will significantly rise in price for domestic consumers.

Increase in tariffs

On July 6, 2021, the Kievteploenergo utility company announced increase in tariffs for heat and hot water due to the rise in gas prices, while a new line with an advance payment will be displayed in the payment order for June.

Thermal operators said that the price of gas, which accounts for the bulk of the cost in the tariff for heat and hot water, has risen catastrophically, but the tariffs of utilities have not.
