On June 7, the training session of the Ukrainian youth team began in Austria, which will prepare for the final tournament of Euro 2023 U-21.
On Wednesday, the coaching staff of the team and a group of players from Uzhgorod reached Vienna via Kosice, after which they drove by bus directly to the place of deployment of the delegation in Styria (a federal state in the southeast of Austria).
Legionnaires joined the team already in the Alpine country, and last night Ruslan Rotan had 24 performers at his disposal. Against the background of a grueling move, the team held a light recovery session, combining it with a run and exercises in the fitness room.
It should be noted that for the period of the training camp in Austria, Vladimir Yezersky, who will work with the defenders, will be included in the coaching staff. From June 16, Sergey Kravchenko will join Ruslan Rotan’s assistants.
It is known that our team will have two sparring matches during the TCB. On June 13, the Ukrainian youth team will meet with their peers from Kuwait (the match starts at 19:00 Kyiv time), and on the 16th they will play with Ireland (also at 19:00).
The official application of the Ukrainian youth team for Euro 2023 will include 23 players, and the list may also include those players who were called up for the June training camp of the national team of Ukraine.
In June, the Ukrainian youth team will take part in the final tournament of Euro 2023 U-21. In total, 16 teams will take part in the forum, which will be held from June 21 to July 8 in Georgia and Romania. According to the results of the draw, which took place on October 18 last year in Bucharest, the Blue-Yellows were in Group B, where they will meet with Romania, Spain and Croatia. The top three teams in Euro 2023 (except France and England) will qualify for the 2024 Olympics.
