A young woman of Ukrainian nationality, aged 26, drowned in a swimming pool in a house in Estoril, where she was with eight young people, on Friday afternoon.
According to a PSP source in statements to Jornal de Notícias, the young people – Portuguese and foreigners, aged between 20 and 30 – “found the girl floating in the pool”. At the time of the accident, the young woman was alone, as her friends were all inside.
“It was a lunch followed by a meeting with friends”, revealed the source. According to PSP, the case was handed over to the Judiciary Police.
A source from the Estoril Fire Department reveals that the alert was given at 6:20 pm and that, when they arrived at the scene, the young woman was in cardiorespiratory arrest.
Despite the resuscitation maneuvers, the young woman ended up dying at the Hospital de São José, in Lisbon.
