Ukraine-Russia war, EU green light for new sanctions against Moscow. Coreper, the Committee of Permanent Representatives of the Member States in Brussels, has approved a fourth package of sanctions, a package that affects individuals and entities involved in the aggression in Kiev, as well as various sectors of the Russian economy. This was announced by the French EU presidency. The measures will be effective after publication in the EU Official Journal. The ambassadors also approved a declaration to the WTO suspending the application of the most favored nation clause for Russia and suspending the examination of Belarus’s application to join the WTO.
Today “we will decide on the next package of sanctions against Russia. We will have to continue this work if the aggression” against Ukraine “continues”, said executive vice president Valdis Dombrovskis, on the sidelines of the Eurogroup in Brussels.
