The Ukrainian national football team with a crushing victory made it to the European U-17 Championship for the first time in 7 years
The Ukrainian youth football team, made up of players no older than 2007, won a direct ticket to the 2024 European Championship, which will be held in Cyprus from May 20 to June 5. In the decisive match in Group 4 in the Greek city of Patras at the Pampeloponnisiako stadium, Yuri Moroz’s team defeated Slovakia (3:0) and finished in 1st place in the quartet.
In Patras, during the first half, a severe thunderstorm began over the stadium, due to which the match was interrupted for 4 hours. After the meeting resumed, even before the break, Ukraine scored a winning result. After Strelchuk’s pass, Stepanov opened the scoring, and then Redushko doubled the lead. In the second half, Stepanov scored a double.
Earlier, the “blue-yellows” defeated Greece (2:0) and Switzerland (3:0). The draw for the final tournament will take place on April 3 in Ayia Napa.
