Ukrainian TV Channel Xsport Expresses Desire to Broadcast Ukrainian Premier League Matches

July 17, 2023, Monday. 13:40

Ukrainian TV channel Xsport wants to broadcast matches of the Ukrainian Premier League. According to TaToTake, today there is a meeting of representatives of 11 UPL clubs on the issue of broadcasting matches for the next season.

The Xsport channel has expressed a desire to invest in broadcasting UPL games. The main motive for this decision was the “success of showing PFL matches” this spring.

Note that the Xsport channel is owned by Boris Kolesnikov. From 1998 to 2021, he served as vice president of Shakhtar Donetsk, and also had his own pool of hockey clubs in Ukraine before the full-scale war. Kolesnikov currently owns two sports channels in Ukraine: Xsport and Xsport+.

Ten days before the start of the new season of the Ukrainian championship, it is still unknown who will show the matches. Some clubs – including Dynamo, Zorya, Dnepr-1 – once again oppose a single telepool, probably having their own interests on 2 + 2.
