Analysts of the institute report that the Ukrainians achieved success in at least three stages of the front.
Geolocation footage of August 11 confirms that Ukrainian troops have reached the northern outskirts of Robotine and Urožaini on the border of Donetsk and Zaporizhia regions. At the same time, analysts admit that
the stability of the positions at this stage is not yet clear.
“It seems that Ukraine’s counteroffensive operations are forcing the Russian army to move Russian forces defending in the west of the Zaporizhzhia region, which indicates that Ukraine’s efforts in this region could significantly weaken Russia’s defenses,” the experts concluded, adding that the Russian 7th Airborne Division recently arrived in Robotine and the “Ahmat” unit, which is the first arrival of new Russian formations in the area.
Analysts point out that this is not the first time that Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov’s “Ahmat” unit has been deployed at critical stages of the front. The last time it happened was in the vicinity of Klishchivka, south of Bakhmut, in response to the advance of Ukrainian forces in the area. The 7th Airborne Division, on the other hand, is deployed in at least two and possibly three frontline areas: in the vicinity of Staromajorsk in the Donetsk region, in the Kherson region on the left bank of the Dnieper, and in the west of the Zaporizhia region.
“Ukraine’s counteroffensive operations have significantly reduced the available Russian forces defending the area and forced the Russian leadership to send additional elements to strengthen defenses in this critical section of the front line,” ISW experts concluded.
It was previously reported that Ukrainian forces were advancing towards Melitopol and Berdyansk.
Army representatives announced that despite the significant number of enemy troops and dense trenches in the territory, Ukrainian soldiers have entered the first line of defense of the occupiers.
Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Malyar announced on August 10 that, despite extremely difficult battle conditions and enemy resistance, Ukrainian troops achieved partial success in the direction of the village of Urozhaine, Donetsk region, which is located near the previously liberated village of Staromayrske.
