Our team is in quartet B, where, in addition to the blue-yellows, there are also Italy, Finland and Slovenia. The Ukrainians opened their performances at the Euro with a match against the Italians.
It cannot be said that Italy looked much stronger than our team. Rather, the Italians had a better realization and luck was on their side that day. After both goals conceded in each half, our team pressed Italy to its goal and only miraculously the ball did not hit the net – by, the defense blocked, the goalkeeper saved, the crossbar secured …
We managed to score one goal, but we didn’t have enough strength and luck for more. Therefore, the game, in which the “blue-yellows” did not deserve defeat, ended with a score of 1:2.
Tomorrow, September 4, there will be a chance to score the first points in the match against Slovenia.
