Jakarta –
Tank manufacturing plant in the city of Zhytomyr, Ukraine destroyed by the Russian army. The city, 140 kilometers from Kiev, is known to have been bombarded Russia in the last few days.
The plant is part of the Ukrainian Defense Industry which is involved in the manufacture, repair and modernization of armored vehicles, including tracked infantry and armored personnel carriers. According to representatives of the Ukrainian defense conglomerate, Ukroboronprom, the factory also assembles other machines for civilian purposes such as in the forestry sector.
In a video published on social media on Saturday (5/3), parts of a Ukrainian tank factory have been razed to the ground. The video, which has been verified by CNN, originally appeared on a pro-Russian Telegram channel, which uses it to support claims that Russia is “demilitarizing” Ukraine.
The video shows Ukrainian soldiers observing the damage at the factory. One soldier was seen telling how he and the others survived.
“Well, that’s the result of the one that flew to us last night,” said one soldier as they walked past the factory building complex.
“I want to show you something,” he said, walking down one of the compound’s highways. “See how much the Russians love us?”
As he continued to walk, more and more shattered windows became visible. Then, a ruined building was seen.
“To be honest, we were really scared today,” said the soldier.
Not far from there, you can see the wreckage of an unfinished tank that was destroyed by the Russian attack.
The Russian attack on Ukraine targeted a number of civilian complexes, apartment buildings, schools and markets. Many buildings were destroyed and caused civilian casualties.
