A man was killed this morning in a shelling of the Russian border village of Tyotkino, Kursk Oblast, by the Ukrainian army. There are also wounded, TASS reported, citing the governor of the southern Russian region Roman Starovoit.
“Another enemy attack on Tiotkino, which was carried out at dawn, unfortunately ended in tragedy. At the moment, at least one civilian is known to have been killed,” Starovoit wrote in his Telegram channel.
He also said that according to preliminary data, the victim was a truck driver who was delivering raw materials to a distillery. Several blows were inflicted on the enterprise.
“There are also wounded. They are receiving first aid,” said the governor of Russia’s Kursk region, without giving specific numbers.
Several houses in Tiotkino were damaged. Fires are currently being put out in the village. There have also been reports of unexploded ordnance, Starovoit said.
Tiotkino was shelled by the Ukrainian side more than five times, the last time – only yesterday, TASS notes.
Pro-Russian separatists from the so-called Luhansk People’s Republic in eastern Ukraine have reported two shellings by Ukraine over the past 24 hours, injuring two civilians.
