The 22nd Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine learns how to use the “Biber” tank-bridge. It is one of 16 promised to Ukraine by the German government.

“The Biber tank is known for its efficiency. It opens the bridge in two to three minutes. Compared to Soviet-era equipment, they open for a longer time – up to five minutes. And only the modern Russian MTU-90 can compete with the “Biber”, but the Ukrainian troops have only a few MTU-90s taken from the occupiers.

The timing of the deployment of the bridge is essential when overcoming obstacles on the front line, where every second can decide a life,” says “Current Time” correspondent Boriss Satchalko.

Boris Satchalko takes the time to find out how long it will realistically be possible to place the “Biber” bridge.

The Biber is built to withstand the 55-ton German Leopard tank.

“The upper span of the bridge rises first and then the lower span moves forward. When the two spans are connected, the bridge is shifted over the barrier so that the equipment can cross it,” says Ukrainian soldier Vladislavs.
