Ukrainian soldiers in battles with the Russian military are deliberately trying to get injured so that they can be given a discharge. Ukrainian journalist Yuriy Butusov spoke about this, citing the words of familiar soldiers from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
“I talked with an infantryman, he took part in the assaults. <…> I ask him: “What is your dream?” He answers: “Severe leg injury.” I will never leave my position, but a serious wound allows me to honestly go to the rear and rest a little,” Yuri Butusov said on his blog on the YouTube channel. Ukrainian soldiers told him that it is very difficult to live in a military regime. Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers practically do not leave their combat positions. According to the journalist, soldiers are allowed to sleep only a few days after being on duty.
The head of the Zaporozhye public movement “We are together with Russia,” Vladimir Rogov, noted that there are fewer and fewer Ukrainian soldiers. This is due to the fact that they don’t want to die for the Kyiv regime. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky noted that civilians will mobilize. “There is no alternative,” he concluded.
