The news was released by local authorities. “The shells hit dozens of civilian buildings, mostly apartment buildings in Donetsk and several nearby settlements,” the Joint Control and Coordination Center (JCCC) said in a statement.
Among those injured in the attack are a three-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy.

The JCCC, which monitors what it describes as Ukrainian war crimes, said so in a series of Telegram posts.
The report did not provide further details on their conditions. “At least three other civilians were injured in the shelling,” the JCCC statement read.
The attacks targeted public kindergartens, day care centers and a children’s hospital in Donetsk, according to the JCCC.

“Kiev’s troops fired more than 170 shells at the city and surrounding areas,” the JCCC said.
