Ukrainian refugees seek Norway from other countries

Fewer Ukrainian refugees have arrived in Sweden and Denmark this summer. At the same time, the number of Ukrainian asylum seekers in Norway is on the rise. UDI now receives many inquiries from refugees in other European countries.

Volodymyr and Anastasiia Kukhar say that Ukrainians share their experiences from Norway, which they believe has a well-functioning integration system. Therefore, many people who have previously sought protection in other European countries are now coming, the couple believe.

Norwegian authorities have previously struggled to help Ukrainian refugees to Norway. Few have wanted to be relocated from Moldova to Norway.

It has also been challenging to get Ukrainian patients to come here for healthcare.
