A refugee from Ukraine has won 500,000 euros with a scratch card in Belgium. This has been announced by the Belgian lottery.
The man had bought a scratch ticket at a gas station for 5 euros last month. His name has not been disclosed, but the lottery knows that he is a man between 18 and 24 years old. Winners can fill in this information – on a voluntary basis – when they collect their prize.
“He didn’t know what hit him when he saw one of his numbers return to the winning numbers and saw an amount of 500,000 euros under it,” according to the lottery.
With the help of friends, the Ukrainian managed to find his way to the lottery’s headquarters, where you have to report for big prizes. In Belgium, this is for amounts above 100,000 euros.
