Ukrainian President Zelensky’s Speech in Washington: Counting on US for Security Assistance

We hope that we can count on the United States, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today in Washington, quoted by Reuters, quoted by BTA.

Zelensky said this in a speech to the US military, amid questions over vital US security assistance to Ukraine.

“We will not give up. We know what to do and you can count on Ukraine. And we also hope that we can count on you,” Zelensky said in his speech at the National Defense University.

US President Joe Biden’s administration has warned the US Congress that if military aid to Kiev is not renewed, the scales in the war in Ukraine may tip in Russia’s favor, posing threats to the national security of Western countries.

Zelensky is expected to meet with President Biden and congressmen tomorrow.
