On Saturday, February 24, the second anniversary of the large-scale Russian invasion, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky recorded video message from Gostomel, against the backdrop of Ukrainian planes destroyed by Russian troops.
“I am in Gostomel. It was from here that the same thing “to take Kiev and Ukraine in three days” was supposed to begin. We can say in one sentence: two years ago we met the enemy landing here with fire, two years later we meet our friends and partners here,” – Zelensky noted.
He added that any normal person wants the war to end:
“But none of us will allow our country to end. That is why we always add to the words about the end of the war: on our terms. That is why the word peace always sounds: fair. That is why in future history the word Ukraine will always have the word Independent. We fight for this. And we will win. On the best day of our lives.”
And Zelensky concluded his address with words of gratitude:
“Thank you to all of you warriors, our people and everyone in the world who stands next to us and with the truth.”
