Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi expressed confidence during his visit to the Netherlands on Thursday that the authoritarian leader of the aggressor Russia, Vladimir Putin, will be convicted of war crimes at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague.
This is what Zelensky said while speaking at the ICC. The speech was also broadcast on the Ukrainian national telethon.
“Dear Dutch people! We are very happy to be here today in your strong country, the land of freedom and justice, the basic values,” said the President of Ukraine.
“Undoubtedly, we all want to see another Vladimir here. in The Hague. One who deserves to be convicted of criminal acts. It must happen here in the capital of international law. I’m sure that will happen when we win. And we will win,” said Zelensky.
Ukraine cannot allow hybrid immunity for war criminals or hybrid peace, which would be related to the cessation of hostilities at the front, the president explained.
“Only lasting peace, real peace, real freedom, real justice. This is exactly what we need right now,” Zelensky emphasized.
