“Ukrainian President Zelensky Visits The Hague and Speaks on No Peace Without Justice for Ukraine”

Ukrainian President Zelensky is visiting The Hague today. He arrived at the Senate around 09:00, where he was received by Presidents of the House Vera Bergkamp and Jan Anthonie Bruijn. At around 11 a.m. he will give a speech and visit the International Criminal Court where an investigation is being conducted into crimes allegedly committed in the war in Ukraine.

The title of Zelensky’s speech is already known: No peace without justice for Ukraine. Minister of Foreign Affairs Hoekstra will also be present at the speech. Insiders report to the ANP news agency that the president also has a meeting with Prime Minister Rutte and Minister Ollongren of Defense. Rutte has already met the Ukrainian leader in Brussels and Kyiv.

Zelensky arrived in the Netherlands on the Dutch government plane last night after visiting Finland earlier in the day. It is the first time that Zelensky has visited the Netherlands as head of state. He did, however, address the House of Representatives via a video link before.

It is unknown whether the president will also attend a Remembrance Day somewhere at 8 p.m. or whether he will have already left the Netherlands by then. The places he visits (except the ICC) are also officially kept secret until now.
