The “lrt.lt” portal writes that Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvīds Anushauskas in an interview on “Žiniu Radijas” radio, he stated that the war in Ukraine limits Russia’s ability to carry out provocations in the Baltics, because Russia has allocated all its land power potentials to Ukraine, pushing it to the front.
It also has aviation, missiles, tactical nuclear weapons, and a navy, but lacks a significant portion of its land force potential. By these remote means, it is completely unable to carry out any provocations.
The key to getting out of this situation is to increase the military defense potential of each country bordering Russia, Anusauskas said.
The minister was commenting on the military training scenario published in the German newspaper “Bild”, in which the German army is preparing for a hybrid Russian attack on NATO’s eastern flank. The plan outlines a detailed scenario of a possible military conflict, continuing to attack Ukraine, gaining victories and launching a hybrid war against the Baltic states in the summer. Under this scenario, clashes would occur and the situation would escalate.
