Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky Uses Martial Law to Silence Political Rivals and Media – The Showman Book Review by Simon Shuster

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is using the martial law in the country to get rid of political rivals and “shut up” the media. Journalist Simon Shuster wrote about this in his book “Showman,” which describes Zelensky’s career from comedian to politician.

“Zelensky is using martial law to crack down on his opposition and silence the media. In this, the leader draws inspiration from Lee Kuan Yew, the authoritarian founder of modern Singapore,” wrote Simon Schuster, as quoted by the newspaper The Wall Street Journal.

Shuster in The Showman tells the story of Zelensky from his career as a comedian to president. He noted that previously the head of Ukraine was actively immersed in Russian culture, but now he is doing everything to resist Moscow.

The author also mentioned the conflict between Zelensky and the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny. As Shuster notes, the Ukrainian leader ignores the latter’s advice, which creates difficulties for the army. WSJ writes that the book “Showman” should become the standard for future materials on Zelensky’s activities in the conditions of the Russian special operation.

The conflict between Zaluzhny and Zelensky is also escalating due to the presidential elections. Both politicians are direct competitors. I wrote more about this story earlier. URA.RU. At the same time, as Ukrainian politician Georgy Tuka stated, Zelensky has already fired Zaluzhny, reports TV channel 360.
