KIEV – President Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has asked his allies to share information about the alleged invasion Russia . This prompted Russia to accuse the West of “mocking” Ukraine and common sense.

Zelenskyy’s remarks come as the crisis in Ukraine deepens, with NATO forces establishing their presence in Eastern Europe. Nato describes their actions as an attempt to prevent Russia from attacking, despite Moscow’s many objections to that intention. On Friday, a number of Western news outlets, citing unnamed US officials, published stories about a potential Russian strike in Ukraine on February 16.

Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, Zelenskyy said that the Ukrainian side understood that “the risk was there,” but stressed that there was “a lot of information in the media about a full-scale deep war of the Russian Federation.”

“If you or anyone else has additional information about Russia’s 100% invasion of Ukraine starting on 16 (February), please provide us with this information. We work every day, receiving information from our intelligence. We are also grateful to the intelligence services of other countries,” Zelenskyy said as quoted by Russia Today, Sunday (13/2/2022).

He added that Ukraine must be prepared for any “surprise” and must rely on itself, on its government agencies, and on intelligence, which he says works well in other countries.

“We are not afraid of anyone, not panicking, everything is under control,” he added, stressing that diplomacy is the only way to de-escalate.

Zelenskyy’s remarks have sparked a backlash from Moscow, with Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova asking the public: “Have you ever seen anything like it?”

Stressing that the US had “stated every day for two months” that Russia was going to attack Ukraine, Zakharova emphasized that the Ukrainian president and representatives of the bloc of powers had been saying all along that they had no such information, while “Now they are also asking those who care to share it.” data.”
