Ukrainian President Accuses European Countries of Undeclared Support for Russia at UN General Assembly

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told world leaders gathered at the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday that some European countries were “providing undeclared support” to Russia.

In his first personal appearance at the annual meetings of the General Assembly since Russia invaded his country in 2022, Zelensky accused Russia of committing genocide by kidnapping Ukrainian children and indoctrinating them with hatred of Ukraine. He described this as “clear ethnic cleansing.”

He stressed: “Some of our European friends are paving the way for Russia through energy weapons.”

He said that his country is preparing for a “global peace summit” to which he intends to invite all world leaders who oppose Russian “aggression” against Ukraine, according to Agence France-Presse.

Zelensky stressed in a speech from the United Nations podium in New York that “important discussions took place in Hiroshima, Copenhagen and Jeddah regarding putting a peace plan into practice. We hope to organize a global peace summit. I call on all of you, all who do not tolerate any aggression, to prepare jointly.” “To the top.”

Zelensky said that towns and cities in Ukraine were razed to the ground, noting that Russia had destroyed Syria before and if it had not been for it, chemical weapons would not have been used there.

The Ukrainian president indicated that Russia is trying to maneuver the issue of global food shortages to gain international recognition for the land it seized from Kiev.

Zelensky accused Russia of “trying to use the food shortage on the global market as a weapon in exchange for recognition of some, if not all, of the territories that (Russia) has seized.”

He said: “We have launched a temporary path to export grain from our ports,” and stressed that “Ukraine is doing everything in its power to ensure that after the Russian aggression, no one in the world will dare to attack any country… The occupier must return to its land.”

He added: “We must unite in our movements to defeat Russia so that the world can focus on international challenges.”
