Al-Marsad Newspaper – Agencies: The Ukrainian presidency commented on the killing of the commander of the Russian private military group “Wagner”, who was killed in a plane crash this evening.
An adviser to Ukraine’s presidential office, Mykhailo Podolyak, said Russian President Vladimir Putin was “waiting for the moment” to get rid of Prigozhin.
He continued, “It is also clear that Prigozhin signed a special death warrant against him, the moment he believed (Belarusian President Alexander) Lukashenko’s strange guarantees, and Putin’s ridiculous word of honor.”
And he added, “The clear liquidation of Prigozhin and Wagner’s leadership two months after the attempted coup is a signal from Putin to the Russian elites ahead of the 2024 elections: Beware! Disloyalty equals death.”
“It is also a signal to the Russian army: there will be no heroes from the special operations forces. If it is not the Ukrainian court, it will be a bullet from the FSB,” he added.
