Ukrainian Navy Prepares 12 More Ships to Navigate Black Sea Shipping Corridor

(VOVWORLD) – The Ukrainian Navy says 12 more ships are ready to sail through a Black Sea shipping corridor towards Ukrainian ports, while another 10 ships are ready to leave the country.

Dmytro Pletenchuk, a navy spokesman, made the statements as Ukraine attempts to challenge Russia’s de facto blockade on Ukrainian exports via the Black Sea. Moscow withdrew in July from an agreement which assured Kiev the possibility of exporting grain in complete safety.

The Ukrainian Navy also highlighted its efforts to ensure the safety of civilian vessels in its territorial waters. The 12 ships mentioned above are currently entering the territorial waters of Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey.
