Ukrainian hacker, accused of attack on Kaseya, extradited from Poland to the United States

Ransomware, or ransomware, is an increasingly lucrative form of digital hostage-taking in which hackers encrypt victims’ data and then demand money to put things right.

Russia had dismantled the REvil group

Yaroslav Vasinski is accused of carrying out such an attack on the Kaseya company on July 2, affecting a thousand of its customers, including the Coop supermarket chain in Sweden, whose 800 stores remained closed for several days.

Russia, often accused of serving as a haven for hackers, announced in January that it had dismantled the Revil group at the request of the United States.
