She points out that the group “Go_A” interprets Ukrainian folklore, dressed in the sounds of electronic music. Its name comes from the word “Go” – a movement, while “A” is an ancient Greek “alpha”, which symbolizes the return to cultural roots. The band started in 2012, when sound producer Tarass Shevchenko met ethno singer Katerin Pavlenko.
Go_A currently consists of ethno-singer, group soloist Pavlenko and musicians Shevchenko, who plays keyboards and percussion, as well as a producer of Go_A sounds, combining a variety of musical styles and sounds, Ihor Didenchuk, who is also a folklorist and multi-instrumentalist. Skrējāne notes that the band “Go_A” gained recognition with the hit “Shum”, performing it in the “Eurovision” song contest in 2021. Despite the fact that the song was performed in Ukrainian, it became a worldwide hit, reaching the top of many European music charts.
A galaxy of Latvian artists will perform at the festival – Musiqq, Gacho, Jumprava, Dagamba, Astro’n’out, Singapore Satin, Left Bank, Dairy Adventures, Ralph Eiland and others. The list of artists will soon be expanded with a number of foreign and domestic musicians and bands.
The tenth festival “Summer Sound” in Liepaja will take place at the end of July – July 29 and July 30.
