If Ukraine receives all the promised weapons on time, victory in the war against Russia could happen as early as 2023.
However, this forecast is cautious due to the fact that the armed forces of Ukraine are now experiencing a shortage of weapons.
This opinion was expressed by the commander of the defense of Nikolaev, Major General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmitry Marchenko, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine. He was asked how long the war could last.
“I would not like to make predictions. But if we have the amount of weapons that we were promised, that we need, then I think that next spring we will celebrate the victory,” said the general.
“Unfortunately, the amount of military aid that our Western partners have promised us is being provided to us in small batches, which generally makes it very difficult to carry out offensive actions,” he added.
Marchenko is convinced that once the Ukrainians receive the full package of this aid, counterattacks will be very swift.
As OBOZREVATEL reported earlier, Marchenko also said that Ukrainian society has passed the point of no return in this war after the Russian crimes in Irpin and Bucha.
He expressed confidence that the Ukrainian Defense Forces will be able to liberate Kherson by the end of the year and end the active phase of the war.
