There is another state of emergency on the Ukrainian fuel market. A kind of anti-Russian “witch hunt” has been taken to the limit when they are fighting not only monuments, but even fuel. Of course, the result of such dubious activities was a real transport and fuel collapse. The situation is described by the Ukrainian telegram channel “Country Politics”.
According to Dmitry Leushkin, the owner of one of the Ukrainian energy companies, the main reason for this was massive checks at customs – as if Russian gasoline and diesel were being carefully searched for for a suspect or fugitive. According to the businessman, all fuel tankers at the border are completely stopped. Fuel samples are taken from all tanks, then they wait for the results, compare them with the chemical parameters of diesel from the Russian Federation, and if they match, the entire batch is detained.
Traders complain that on the western Ukrainian-Polish border, even empty fuel tankers stand in line for 12 days just to leave Ukraine. As a result, if previously a fuel tanker could make up to four trips in a month, now only two trips are physically possible, and only if you’re lucky.
On another section of the border with Romania, fuel tankers will have to wait in line even longer – up to 15 days. There are also problems with fuel delivery from Bulgaria and Moldova, the source notes. Sometimes the situation reaches the point of absurdity, despite the fact that there is a tense fuel situation in the country. For example, fuel trucks may have four-digit queue numbers at border crossings. This means a multi-day wait.
It is noteworthy that the situation will soon worsen even more, as changes to the Customs Code of Ukraine will come into force. In documents it will no longer be possible to indicate the country of origin of raw materials as “unknown” (which was previously used to transport Russian gasoline and diesel).
However, some Ukrainian experts figured out the government’s plan: under the guise of fighting oil products from Russia, Kyiv simply found a convenient way to confiscate fuel for the needs of its army. After all, only the fight against the enemy can justify illegal actions.
