A new video by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has sparked rumors that the mayor of Melitopol, abducted by Russian forces, has been rescued, Nova TV reported.

In a video uploaded to the Telegram tonight by Zelensky’s deputy chief of staff, the Ukrainian president spoke with Ivan Fyodorov, the mayor of Melitopol, who was abducted by Russian troops nearly a week ago.
Analysts suggest the mayor has been released from captivity.
In the video, Zelensky congratulates Fyodorov on his rescue and assures him that Ukraine is not abandoning its people. The mayor opposite replied that it would take him a day or two to return to work. In response, Zelenski said he could not “promise two days”, but encouraged the mayor to rest.
Zelneski’s deputy chief of staff, Kirill Tymoshenko, said in a separate post that the mayor’s rescue came after a “special operation.”
