Ukrainian forces have captured the center of the important village of Robotyne on the southern front, according to Russian sources.
There has recently been heavy fighting in the area around the village in the Zaporizhzhya region in the south of Ukraine. Geographically verified images showed last week that Ukraine had breached Russia’s northern defense line at the village.
Now the Ukrainians have moved into the center of the village, according to two independent pro-Russian sources, write The Telegraph.
According to the pro-Russian blog Military Informant, Kyiv’s forces have faced resistance in the center from Russian forces backed by artillery. Another Telegram channel says that fierce fighting is now taking place in the center.
The village is important because it will give Ukraine the opportunity to attack further towards the city of Tokmak in the battle to push forward to Melitopol and cut off Russia’s land bridge to the occupied Crimean peninsula.
