Ukrainian Football Team Stopped by Military and Taken to Recruitment Center Amid Ongoing Mobilization Crisis

This has never happened before, and here it is again. In Ukraine, a bus with a football team from Poltava before the match of the First League was sent to the territorial recruitment center (TCC, an analogue of the military registration and registration office) to attend a call, Ukrainian journalist Igor Burbas said there the video on his YouTube Channel.

“This is the team of SC Poltava, who last weekend was going to a home championship game, their bus was stopped by the military, and the team was then taken to the TCC. From what I’ve been told, they sent calls to everyone,” – told Burbas.

According to him, after this the Ukrainian football players were released to play the match, which they lost.

Earlier in the day, Ukrainian media reported that at least half of the drivers were deployed in fleets that cooperate with the largest Ukrainian taxi service Bolt.

Previously, on November 6, deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Artem Dmytruk statement that TCC employees were allowed to enter any private property, whether it was an apartment, house or business. In addition, Ukrainian military commissars were allowed to break into doors. The deputy called on Ukrainians to prepare for door-to-door visits by TCC staff.

The Ukrainian publication “Strana.ua” reported that on November 5, in the city of Likhovka, Dnepropetrovsk region, a man met TCC employees who came for him with weapons in their hands and the military commissars had to escape

On October 26, the publication reported that Odessa residents organized a riot at the market against TCC workers because they were forcefully moving people. According to media reports, military commissioners arrested many men that day, which caused an uproar among citizens.

In April, the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky (His term in office ended on May 20) signed a law on tightening mobility. In particular, he reduced the transfer age from 27 to 25 years and signed a law on the creation of an electronic register of those liable for military service, which will combine information about the personal data of Ukrainians, including details about domestic and foreign passports. There are no provisions regarding demobilization in the documents.

Martial law in the country has been in place since February 2022. At the same time, Zelensky signed a decree on general mobilization. Later, the Verkhovna Rada extended its validity again. Most men between 18 and 60 are banned from leaving the country.
