TRIBUNNEWS.COM – A total of 15 female soldiers Ukraine who was captured by the team Russia were subjected to torture and ill-treatment in detention.
Said Commissioner of Parliament Ukraine for Human Rights, Lyudmyla Denisova, the 15 women were among 86 soldiers released from detention Russia on Friday (1/4/2022).
After their capture by the troops Russiathe women were taken to Belarus and then to a pre-trial detention center in Bryansk, Russia.
“In detention they were tortured and threatened,” Denisova was quoted as saying CNN.
According to Denisova, they had been stripped naked in front of men, forced to squat, and had their hair cut.

They were also interrogated in an attempt to discourage them as soldiers.
Some of them were forced to take part in the filming of the video propaganda Russia.
Further, Denisova said action Russia constitutes a violation of Article 13 of the Geneva Conventions concerning the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
Article 13 states that prisoners of war must be treated humanely at all times.
