In the near future, the Ukrainian Defense Forces will break through the first line of defense of the Russian troops in the Zaporizhia sector of the front.
“Preparations for a breakthrough are underway… We are approaching the front lines, which can already be breached,” said Roman Svitan, a military expert, a reserve colonel and a military pilot-instructor, quoted by the UNIAN news agency.
“The Russians have made quite deep fortified areas in front of the defense line, there are a significant number of minefields.” Specifically, Ukrainian fighters will break into the Orihiv region this week or next week at the latest, the expert noted: “Heavy artillery will start working.”
In the direction of Berdyansk, as part of the counteroffensive, the armed forces of Ukraine penetrated up to 2 kilometers into the enemy’s positions. Ukrainian soldiers carry out aerial reconnaissance of the area, inflict fire damage on the identified Russian targets, conduct counter-battery combat and carry out demining, UNIAN reported.
