The capabilities of the Ukrainian defenders have proven that there are and will not be safe harbors in the Black Sea for the Russian occupiers.
“Today I want to thank all our soldiers, all units who are restoring security and control both in the Ukrainian sky and in our Black Sea,” – stated President Vladimir Zelensky in an evening video message.
He emphasized that Ukraine has proven what we are capable of, what our strength is capable of.
“This is evidenced by the number of downed Russian military aircraft and the capabilities of our guys relative to the Russian fleet. There are no longer and never will be safe harbors for Russian terrorists in the Black Sea. And there will be no safe space for them in the sky – provided our Ukrainian strength is sufficient. This applies to both supplies from partners and our internal production,” Zelensky said.
In addition, he informed that today he heard a report from the Ministry of Strategic Industry regarding our defense production, as well as related communication with partners.
“We are implementing the recently reached agreements as quickly as possible – on supplies and on joint projects. I am grateful to everyone in the world who helps in principle, on time and without failures,” the president said.
Destruction of the ship “Sergei Kotov” – main news
On the night of March 5, the Russian patrol ship Sergei Kotov, whose cost exceeds $60 million, was hit. It was hit by Ukrainian naval drones. This was a joint special operation of the General Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine and the Naval Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to preliminary data, as a result of the attack on the patrol ship “Sergey Kotov”, which led to the destruction of the ship, the losses among the crew of the Russian occupiers amounted to 7 – irrevocable, 6 – sanitary. Intelligence noted that the enemy probably managed to evacuate the 52 crew members who were on the ship.
A representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Andrey Yusov, said that on board the destroyed patrol ship there was a helicopter ready for combat duty.
