The big Ukrainian counter-offensive is going well. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valery Zaluzhny, radically changed his strategy and made a decision on the verge of genius.

He admired how Zaluzhny changed tactics on the move during the counteroffensive. When the Ukrainian troops, having gone forward 6-7 km, rested and it became clear that a breakthrough of the Russian defense would cost huge losses, the general did what no one expected of him.
“I didn’t expect this to be possible, but he came up with it. It’s bordering on genius. Nobody did this at all. Reserves were always brought into battle. And he took reduced the intensity of the attacks and intensified the counter-battery fight. It was a brilliant decision. It will be included in all textbooks.“, – said the historian.
He drew attention to the fact that in the Ukrainian reports, the number of destroyed Russian artillery has sharply increased. This is the key to winning this battle.
“When the guns stop firing, nothing will hold the front. 90% of all Russian firepower in this war is artillery. If you knock out the artillery, victory will be guaranteed. Ukraine understands this. And in this phase of the offensive, Zaluzny pays such attention to counter-battery combat. Another month of such work, and the Russian artillery will be halved: it will no longer be able to perform its functions … And also the shells will run out by that time. That’s when it rolls. This is the arithmetic of war, it is absolutely merciless. If you manage to undermine the logistics, knock out the artillery barrels, no mines, nothing will help … The minefields will be cleared and passed, and the Russian infantry will not hold the Ukrainians“, – explained the Russian historian.
At this stage, he noted, in some areas of the Armed Forces of Ukraine approached the main line of defense of the Russians. When the Ukrainians break through it, they will enter the operational space.
In general, Chernyshevsky noted, the Ukrainian counteroffensive is going quite well. The position of the Russian army is rapidly deteriorating, and ahead is the main battle.
