The minister stressed that “the decision to provide HIMARS and M270 is the first step for Ukraine and a huge leap in the issue of deterring Russian aggression.”
Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov announced the start of preparation of Ukrainian artillery crews in Europe for the use of multiple launch rocket systems HIMARS and M270.
He said this during a speech at the international security forum GLOBSEC-2022, reports Department of Press and Information of the Ministry of Defense.
In particular, he welcomed the US decision to provide HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems and noted that British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace announced that Ukraine would receive the M270 MLRS.
“Remember the words of the American astronaut Neil Armstrong, who landed on the moon, that “… this is a small step for a person, but a giant leap for all mankind.” So, the decision of the White House on HIMARS and London on M270 is the first step for Ukraine and a huge leap forward in deterring Russian aggression,” Reznikov said.
