“Today our units have captured more than ten enemy positions in the north and south of the Bakhmut area and cleared a significant area of the forest in the Ivanovsky area,” she said.
Malyar added that the Ukrainian military captured enemy soldiers from different parts.
“It’s very hot in Bakhmut itself. The enemy has gathered all his forces there and is trying to advance, destroying everything in its path. Fierce battles continue,” the deputy defense minister said.
Malyar stressed that as of now, the occupiers cannot encircle Bakhmut and “achieve a resounding victory in this direction.”
At the same time, she added that the commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky keeps the situation under control.
Recall that yesterday Malyar reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are gradually moving in two directions in the suburbs of Bakhmut.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Ukrainian military is very motivated before the counteroffensive, and the Ukrainian defense forces are almost ready for offensive actions.
