On Thursday, the Ukrainian army confirmed that its air defenses had completely repelled a new “massive” attack by Moscow on Kiev using drones, noting that it was the twelfth attack of its kind on the capital this month.
Sergey Popko, the head of Kiev’s civil and military administration, wrote in a post on Telegram that Russia “has attacked Kiev again from the air.”
He added that the air alert in the city lasted for more than 3 hours.
He explained that “according to preliminary information”, this “huge” attack was carried out by Iranian-made “Shahid” drones.
“The guardian angels of Ukraine did not give the aggressor any chance. All air targets that were heading towards Kiev were destroyed by our air defenses,” the Ukrainian official stressed.
According to Popko, this attack is the twelfth of its kind that targeted the capital this May.
The head of the Civil and Military Administration pointed out that the previous air attack on Kiev took place 4 days ago.
On Wednesday night, other Ukrainian cities were subjected to Russian air strikes, especially Kharkiv (east) and Chernivtsi (west), according to the Ukrainian authorities.
