Ukrainian Armed Forces Recapture Blagodatne Village in Southeastern Ukraine from Russian Troops

The armed forces of Ukraine announced today that they have captured the village of Blagodatne in the southeastern part of the country. This is the first recaptured settlement reported by Ukraine since the beginning of its offensive against Russian troops, reported France Presse, quoted by BTA.

“The glorious warriors of the 68th brigade liberated the Blagodatne area,” the Ukrainian ground forces said on Facebook. The message was accompanied by a video of soldiers placing the Ukrainian flag on a destroyed building.

It is noted that 1000 people lived in the village before the war.

“We are seeing the first results of counteroffensive actions,” Ukrainian military spokesman Valery Shershen said on television. He said the village is on the border between Donetsk and Zaporozhye regions, a few kilometers south of the Kiev-controlled village of Velika Novosilka.
