The Ukrainian Armed Forces pushed back Russian forces south of Bakhmut and northwest of the city. This allowed the supply line to be restored.
It is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the British Ministry of Defense in Twitter.
As noted in the report, the troops of the Wagner group continue to gradually advance in the center of Bakhmut. Over the past four days, however, Ukrainian forces have had tactical success in stabilizing their flanks.
In addition to advancing south of the city, the Ukrainian attacks pushed the Russian front line northwest of the city, according to British intelligence. This likely allowed Ukrainian forces to restore safer use of key supply road 0506.
“Ukraine is holding back the Russian offensive on the line of the Seversky Donets-Donbass canal, turning the waterway into an obstacle as part of a deep defensive strip around the city of Chasov Yar,” the British Defense Ministry said.
Recall, on May 15, the speaker of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhiy Cherevaty said that the Defense Forces of Ukraine over the past two days have advanced in some places on the flanks around Bakhmut at a distance of 350 meters to 2 kilometers.
