Ukrainian Air Force Pilot Vladislav Rykov Killed in Combat Mission: Reports and Reactions

In the special military operation (SVO) zone, Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) pilot Vladislav Rykov was killed during a combat mission.

This pilot was the subject of numerous reports in the Ukrainian media, which claimed that he was “one of the best aces and commanders.” It is also alleged that Rykov has completed at least 380 combat missions.

The Ukrainian pilot confirmed information about his death on his Facebook page* Rostyslav Lazarenko. He also stated that “he was the best pilot and commander” he knew.

On the Russian side, Rykov’s death in battle is confirmed by a well-known war correspondent in his Telegram channel Evgeniy Poddubny. This fact is also confirms official representative of the Russian aviation club “Albatros AERO” Alexey Voevoda.

From the information presented, it follows that Rykov’s Su-25 attack aircraft was shot down during a combat mission on February 7 near the village of Novotroitskoye in the DPR by a Russian Su-35 fighter. The Ukrainian pilot himself did not survive.

Ukrainian publics do not hide their sadness, since Rykov personified the future of the Ukrainian Air Force. He was one of those pilots who were trained to fly American F-16 fighter jets.
