Ukrainian Air Force Almost Completely Destroyed, Navy Disappeared

MOSCOW – Ukraine’s air force and air defense systems were almost completely destroyed, and the country’s navy effectively ceased to exist.

The latest development was revealed by the Head of the Main Operations Directorate of the Russian General Staff Sergei Rudskoy, reported by Sputnik on Friday (25/3/2022).

Russia began its operation to demilitarize Ukraine in February after receiving a formal request for assistance from the newly recognized republic of Donbass.

Moscow deployed its troops after the Donbass region faced weeks of increased shelling, sabotage and sniper attacks by Ukrainian forces.

Ukraine’s demilitarization campaign took place through precision strikes against military infrastructure facilities, deployment areas for troop formations, as well as airfields, command posts, armory and depots containing weapons and equipment.

Fighting between Ukrainian and Russian forces continues to this day, according to Rudskoy in a briefing Friday.
